25th August ... Jim also reports that Xiamen A/L will increase their Xiamen [XMN] flight to 3x weekly (Mon/Wed/Fri) from 28th October all with B787-9 MF805/6 arr 1840 dep 0140 following day.
26th August ... Jim also reports that China Southern A/L will increase their Guangzhou [CAN] flight to 4x weekly (Tue/Wed/Fri/Sun) from 25th October all with B777-300 (ER) CZ329/330 arr 2125 dep 0020 following day.
27th August ... effective 0400 hrs taxiway F connecting the former taxiway A into the south terminal ramp and the new AS/AR to C in front of the south terminal spotters platform permanently closed. All movements to the south terminal and all FBO's will now be accessed from the "new" taxiway A which extends past the construction down to C which enters the Millionair ramp and there is now a new roadway where the aircraft used to taxi. To summarize, the taxiway from A to the south terminal is now AR and the new taxiway next to it at the west end of the construction of the new ramp is AS. F is now completely gone. The construction in front of the platform will be a cargo ramp (assumed to be Cargojet but unconfirmed) and access to it will also be from taxiway A, so no aircraft will taxi in front of the platform. End of an era.
New taxiway AS with A running behind parallel to the runway 08R/26L
New roadway in front of the platform which was taxiway F
Over view of the new taxiway AS, ramp being built and roadThe existing taxiway A into the south terminal is now AR

27th August ... while not exactly BC related and announced back in January, WestJet are due to commence 3x weekly from Calgary [YYC] to Sau Paulo [GRU] using B787-9 with onward codeshare connections with LATAM through South America from 8th November. As there are no direct flights from YVR to Brazil with a lot of demand pax and cargo, this is a great one stop connection for us.

29th August ... Langley Regional Airport Air Fare, the star of the show and only non GA aircraft was the RCAF Cyclone. There are quite a few rare aircraft based there rarely seen including the long time resident Guatemalan registered Stearman. The Canadian Museum of Flight also had it's doors open free of charge too.
The entrance I used on 213A Street on the north side of the airfield
C-FJDB ~ Airbus H145 ~ RCMP GRC Air Services ~ both runways were closed for display of cars and aircraft, so the only flyer of the day was this based police chopper
TG-FEC ~ Boeing Stearman N2S-3 Kaydet ~ exotically registered in Guatemala with the hyphen in the wrong place. I saw this many years ago and it was verified to be at the time it is indeed a TG- registration. If anyone knows differently and it is now on the Canadian or N register unmarked, I would like to know
Nose of an MD-80 family, I have seen a couple of suggestion as to it's identity, but none add up. If anyone knows, please share...
C-FOPU ~ Conair Firecat ~ Canadian Museum of Flight ~ it was originally kept in running condition, I'm not sure if it still is
Canadian Museum of Flight opened their doors free of charge
CF-PWH ~ Douglas DC-3-227B ~ Canadian Museum of Flight ~ resident open to the public, Canada's oldest DC3 built in 1940
148802 ~ Sikorsky CH-148 Cyclone ~ RCAF 443 Squadron [CFB Pat Bay Victoria]
